Home Electrification: What is it? Why Doit? How can I get help paying for it?

Dinyah Rein, a professional consultant dedicated to social and environmental impact, will share how you can lower your carbon footprint and your home energy costs by electrifying a few key systems within your home. From the less expensive options, like an induction hotplate, to the more comprehensive home heat pump, the technology continues to improve, and the government provides financial support!  This makes switching away from fossil fuels in our homes ever more accessible.

Even if now is not the time for you, Dinyah’s presentation will give you a head start on understanding and planning for your electric home future!

Climate Movie Night

Third Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm; in-person or virtually!

November 21, 6:30pm - heat Pumps

Heat pumps will reduce your greenhouse gas emissions while they heat your home and water, and clean and dry your clothes. Join us in watching a video of home electrification expert Sean Armstrong describing the nuts and bolts of selecting an electric heat pump for your home. Sean’s firm, Redwood Energy, designed half of the all-electric residences built in California and one quarter of the Zero Net Energy residences built in North America between 2011 and 2020! This Elders Climate Action webinar was recorded on September 6, 2024. I explores why home electrification is important for our health and the health of our planet. It also reviews how electrification policy advocacy is critical in addressing the climate crisis.
